Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (CVT) preferred
• Urgent care experience a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in examination, diagnosis, and treatment of urgent care patients
• Place IV catheters, draw blood, and obtain diagnostic samples
• Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia
• Assist in surgical procedures and maintain sterile technique
• Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as directed
• Run in-house laboratory diagnostics and assist with imaging
• Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes to the attending veterinarian
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners
• Maintain thorough medical records and logs
• Keep treatment areas, surgical suites, and equipment clean and organized
• Practice the gold standard of patient care in every interaction

Utah Veterinary Emergency Center (UVEC) is a newly established, independently owned veterinary urgent care hospital in Herriman, Utah. We’re looking for dedicated, skilled Veterinary Technicians to join our founding team and help set the standard from day one.

As a Veterinary Technician at UVEC, you are not an afterthought—you are the backbone of the hospital. Our technicians work side by side with our doctors as true clinical partners, practicing the gold standard of medicine in a well-equipped, modern facility. SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

• $23–$35/hour depending on experience and licensure
• 12-hour shifts: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
• Maximum of 14-16 shifts per month—we believe in sustainable schedules

• Maintain thorough and accurate medical records and treatment logs
• Keep treatment areas, surgical suites, and equipment clean, stocked, and organized
• Practice the gold standard of patient care in every interaction

QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (CVT) preferred—unlicensed technicians with strong hands-on experience will be considered
• Prior veterinary clinical experience required; urgent care or specialty experience a plus
• Proficiency in venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and patient restraint
• Strong diagnostic and technical skills with a willingness to continuously learn
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine commitment to compassionate, evidence-based veterinary medicine
• A strong work ethic and the drive to continuously improve—you hold yourself to a high standard
