Qualifications

Veterinary Technician – Triage Nurse

We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of Veterinary Nurses (vet tech) to support our Emergency Department as a Triage Nurse.

The schedule we are hiring for is:

Sunday through Wednesday 4pm - 2am

Salary: From $20.00 per hour + 15% shift differential

Minimum Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in veterinary medicine as a Nurse is required.
  • Current CVT/LVT/RVT preferred or educational equivalent.
Your skills & experience and how you'll utilize them to help our patients:
  • Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing)
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes
  • Provide medical care to patients arriving at the emergency room by using sound technical skills
  • Prioritize care based on critical nature and severity of patient's condition
  • Support the treatment floor and emergency service by performing a variety of nursing tasks as assigned
  • Assist physicians with examinations, emergency procedures, and treatments.
  • Perform venipuncture, lab procedures and other diagnostics.
  • Attention to detail and a calm demeanor
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Communicate with clients and team members (verbally and written)
  • Fear Free handling: safe, stress-free interactions for team members, clients, and patients
