Job summary

Oklahoma State University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Stillwater seeks a Veterinary Technician to assist clinicians, train students, and ensure high standards of patient care in a busy animal hospital. The role includes operating medical equipment, maintaining inventories, and supporting a team of professionals.

Candidates should have a veterinary technology background, RVT licensure eligibility, and several years of experience depending on level.

Qualifications

• Must have High School/GED; two years’ Veterinary Assistant/Technician experience.
• RVT or completed associate degree in veterinary technology and licensure within 120 days of hire.
• Three years’ experience for Technician II; six years for Technician III; eight years for Senior Technician; NAVTA-recognized specialty credentials for Specialist I/II.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and assist year-four veterinary students.
• Maintain equipment and supplies inventory in clinical areas.
• Provide high quality veterinary technical assistance in the Small Animal Primary Care unit and assist other areas as needed.
