Job summary

Oklahoma State University Stillwater campus is seeking a Veterinary Technician/Assistant to provide medical care to animals used in research and teaching. You will document treatments, stock supplies, collect samples, and assist in training staff to maintain high standards of animal welfare.

The role includes routine husbandry for a variety of laboratory animal species and requires physical stamina and strong communication skills to work with a team of veterinarians and researchers.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required with start date in view.
• Veterinary Assistant – HS/GED with two years’ experience.
• RVTx I: license or exam and licensure within 120 days of hire.
• RVTx II/III: multiple years in AVMA settings or large practice.
• Specialist credentials preferred per NAVTA guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide veterinary care to university animals under supervision.
• Document care in medical records.
• Stock supplies, collect samples, sanitize areas, train staff.
• Perform routine husbandry of diverse lab animal species.
