Qualifications

• Working knowledge of pharmaceuticals, diseases, transmission, treatment and prevention.
• Experience with anesthesia, radiography, and nursing care.
• Ability to educate clients and market services.
• Maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals and supplies.
• Follow OSHA and DEA regulations.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and the team.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record patient histories.
• Collect specimens and perform routine laboratory procedures.
• Dispense and administer medications and vaccines.
• Administer fluids and blood products as prescribed.
• Administer and monitor anesthesia.
• Provide specialized nursing care for ill animals.
• Prepare patients, instruments and equipment for surgery.
• Ensure monitoring equipment is in good working condition.
• Assist in diagnostic and surgical procedures including imaging.
• Take and process radiographs.
