Position:

Veterinary Technician in our Surgery department.

Work Schedule:

Full-Time

Pay Range APCA I/VTIII:

$23.20 - $43.70/hour

*This pay band depends on local veterinary licensing, experience, and competency assessment.

Shift Differentials:

• Weekday Night (Mon-Fri 6p to 8a): $4.00
• Weekend Day (Sat-Sun 8a to 6p): $4.00
• Weekend Night (Sat-Sun 6p to 8a): $5.50

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards.
• Place peripheral intravenous catheters in the cephalic vein.
• Perform physical exams and monitor vital signs, alertting the veterinarian to abnormalities.
• Set up and administer intravenous fluids, including subcutaneous fluids.
• Operate and troubleshoot all brands of IV fluid pumps.
• Monitor patient response to therapies, including signs of overload.
