BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Surgery Veterinary Technician for surgery treatments, hospitalization, and post-operative care to join our Monroeville, PA, Surgery team!

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 / hour

• This pay band is a starting point and depends on experience and advancement through the CareerTrax leveling system.
• This position qualifies for additional shift differential pay.

You will have the opportunity to work with our Board-Certified Surgeons on cases including orthopedics, soft tissue, neurological, and more. We do not have ER service or weekend hours, and we are generally closed for the 6 major holidays each year. If you're interested in using the newest anesthetic protocols and anesthetic management, then this is the place for you!

As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you will be responsible for post-operative client communication, observing post-op patients, and working independently while contributing to a team goal.

As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards and core values.
• Manage the entire surgical process: pre-op (intubation, induction, prepping), peri-op (monitoring anesthesia, troubleshooting), post-op (hospitalization, radiographs, pain management, extubating, fluid therapy).
• Assess patients, collect vitals, perform physical exams, and communicate with clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, and updates.
• Set up and operate intravenous fluid pumps, administer fluids, and monitor patient response.
