Job description

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring a Surgery Veterinary Technician to join the Nashville, TN team!

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 / hour

Qualified LVT applicants eligible for up to $500 sign-on bonus

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our leveling system.

Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience

As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you will:

1. Assist in patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures, including formulating anesthetic plans tailored to individual patient needs.
2. Monitor anesthesia, troubleshoot anesthetic complications, and make appropriate interventions.
3. Perform intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and operate and maintain anesthetic equipment.
4. Perform physical exams; accurately record vital signs and recognize abnormal parameters.
5. Set up intravenous fluids and CRIs.
6. Expand your skills in advanced anesthetic techniques including epidurals, difficult airway intubation, and critical case management.
7. Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
8. Manage patient care from pre-op to recovery, including monitoring responses to fluids and anesthesia.
9. Manage appointments, obtain histories, keep medical records, and handle patient discharges.
