Job summary

A veterinary clinic is seeking a Veterinary Surgical / Patient Care Assistant to join their team in Copperas Cove, TX. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a clinical and surgical veterinary setting.
  • Strong knowledge of anesthesia protocols and monitoring equipment.
  • Proficient in CPR, intubation, ECG and pulse oximetry interpretation.

Veterinary Surgical / Patient Care Assistant

Location: Animal Medical Center Copperas Cove

Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time

Are you a detail oriented, animal loving veterinary assistant with a passion for surgery? Animal Medical Center is seeking a Veterinary Surgical / Patient Care Assistant to join our skilled, supportive, and fast paced team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional surgical and patient care from pre-operative preparation to post-operative recovery. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures (soft tissue, orthopedic, dental, etc.)
  • Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals to ensure safety throughout procedures
  • Prepare surgical suites and maintain sterile fields
  • Provide pre- and post-operative patient care, including monitoring and recovery
  • Accurately complete surgical monitoring forms and patient medical records
  • Educate pet owners on post-surgical care instructions and medications
Required Experience & Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a clinical and surgical veterinary setting
  • Hands-on surgical and anesthesia experience
