Job summary

BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital is hiring a Surgery Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced surgical team. You will prepare patients for surgery, restrain them during procedures, and assist with IV access and phlebotomy.

You'll perform radiographs and cytology prep, monitor anesthesia, and contribute to advanced imaging such as CT/MRI. A commitment to high-quality care and mentoring others is essential.

Qualifications

• Active RVT license in the United States.
• Experience in surgical/ anesthesia support preferred.
• Ability to work nights/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for surgery.
• Restrain patients during procedures.
• Place IV catheters in peripheral veins.
• Perform phlebotomy.
• Prepare slides for cytology.
• Proficiently perform digital radiographs.
• Monitor patients under anesthesia or while sedated.
• Assist with CT/MRI imaging as needed.

Pay

$24.00 - $49.00 / hour

$3,000 Sign-on bonus for qualified RVT candidates!

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

• Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential

As a Surgery Technician, you will:

• You prepare patients for surgery.
• You safely restrain patients for procedures.
• You place intravenous catheters in all peripheral veins.
• You perform phlebotomy.
• You prepare slides for cytology.
• You proficiently perform digital radiographs.
• You monitor patients during anesthesia or while sedated.
• You will perform advanced imaging such as CT scans and MRI procedures.
• You have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• You have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
