BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Team.

Pay

$20.00-$40.00 hourly

Shift

4x 10-hour shifts per week, scheduled between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Shift times may vary within one of the following windows:

  • 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Job Summary

A BluePearl Surgery Technician is responsible for some post‑operative client communication and must be able to work independently while contributing to a larger team goal.

Preferred: minimum of two or more years of experience in a veterinary hospital.

A rotating on‑call schedule is required once training has been completed.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
  • Utilize ability to place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein.
  • Perform physical exam; accurately count heart rate, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
  • Understand normal vital parameters and alert doctor when abnormal.
  • Set up intravenous fluids.
  • Administer subcutaneous fluids.
  • Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
  • Disconnect and connect patient from intravenous fluids aseptically.
  • Monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload.
  • Provide some post‑operative client communication.
