Westford Veterinary Emergency & Referral Center is seeking an Emergency Technician Supervisor to lead our 24/7 ER team. You will oversee clinical operations, mentor staff, and ensure exceptional patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Licensed, registered, or certified veterinary technician (or equivalent education/experience).
• Minimum of 3 years of veterinary hospital experience.
• Leadership/training or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and client service skills.

Supervisor - Emergency Veterinary Technician

Westford Veterinary Emergency & Referral Center is looking for a compassionate and motivated Emergency Technician Supervisor to help lead our emergency and critical care team. In a setting where every moment matters, this role is key to supporting both patients and the people caring for them. WVERC is a comprehensive 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital providing advanced care across emergency and critical care, surgery, internal medicine, neurology, ophthalmology, anesthesia and pain management, physical rehabilitation, and diagnostic imaging.

Veterinary Technician Supervisor - Emergency

WVERC in Westford, MA

Salary: $38.00-$42.00 /per hour based on experience

Schedule: Full-time; 3 12-hour shifts. Time allotted for admin duties. Schedule may change based upon the needs of the hospital/department.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Team Leadership

• Lead and support technical staff through daily guidance, coaching, and feedback
• Partner on hiring, onboarding, and performance management
• Foster a collaborative, accountable team environment

Workflow & Operations

• Oversee daily workflow, staffing, and patient flow
• Delegate responsibilities to support efficient, high-quality care
• Identify and improve processes to enhance team efficiency

Patient Care

• Ensure consistent, high-quality nursing care across the department
• Support treatments, procedures, and diagnostics as needed
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records

Client Experience

• Support a smooth, professional client experience
• Guide team interactions and assist with resolving concerns

Operations & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to hospital policies and regulatory standards
• Communicate updates and expectations clearly to the team

Training & Development

• Lead onboarding and ongoing training
• Support team growth and skill development

Hospital Environment

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized hospital
• Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols

REQUIREMENTS

• Licensed, Registered, or Certified Veterinary Technician (or equivalent education/experience)
• VTS in ECC strongly preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of veterinary hospital experience
• Previous leadership, training, or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong communication and client service skills
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Able to lift 40-50 pounds
