Westford Veterinary Emergency Referral Center in Westford, MA is seeking an Overnight Emergency Technician Assistant to join our ER/ICU team. You will assist with restraint, daily hospital tasks, in-house lab work, radiology, and patient care on a 24/7 hospital floor.

Requirements include a high school diploma and at least 6 months in a veterinary or animal handling role. The position offers competitive pay of $20–$22 per hour, with benefits and growth opportunities within Rarebreed Veterinary

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate restraint methods and assist in daily hospital maintenance

• Fill medications for outpatients and inpatients as instructed
• Maintain professional relationships with team members

Westford Veterinary Emergency Referral Center is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Overnight Emergency Technician Assistant to our team. This role will be responsible for working on the ER/ICU floor.

Founded in 2012, the Westford Veterinary Emergency & Referral Center is an animal care facility like no other. Our campus spans 3 buildings totaling 17,000 square feet. We offer 24/7 emergency & critical care, urgent care, anesthesiology & pain management, internal medicine, orthopedic & soft tissue surgery, neurology & neurosurgery, and physical therapy. New equipment is selected by the very team destined to use the technology. We are proud to offer a complete in-house laboratory, 3 DR radiology rooms, 3 ultrasound suites, 6 roomy surgical suites, CT scanner, digital endoscope system, minimally invasive surgery tower, and a 1.5T MRI.

Overnight Emergency Technician Assistant

Westford, Massachusetts

$20.00-$22.00/hour depending on experience, licensure and availability.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Demonstrate appropriate and efficient methods of restraint
• Assist in daily hospital maintenance, including but not limited to laundry, stocking, cleaning, walking patients,
• cleaning litter boxes, and daily treatment tasks
• Efficiently and safely multitask with exams, in house lab work, radiology, and other-directed tasks
• Clean cages and runs to acceptable hospital standards
• Provide compassionate care for all clients and patients in varying emotional states
• Fill medications for outpatients and hospitalized patients, as instructed
• Maintain positive and professional working relationships with all team members
• Be able to take constructive criticism from leadership
• Follow directions and orders from veterinarians or veterinary technicians
• Identify when assistance is needed in different areas of the hospital
• Ability to stay focused in turbulent environments
• Assist in emergency situations, such as controlling bleeding, administering medications or fluids, and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Assist in the aftercare process in a respectful manner

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 6 months previous experience in a veterinary or animal handling role required
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude
• Able to multitask
• Able to lift 50 pounds
