Job summary

VCA Piedmont Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician Supervisor with priority given to anesthesia expertise. The role leads on-site operations, mentors technicians, and collaborates with management to improve care quality. Weekend rotation required and compensation ranges per skill and licensure.

Ideal candidates hold CVT/LVT/RVT/LVMT credentials (FL CVT preferred) and have 5+ years of clinical experience with leadership experience and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician with CVT/LVT/RVT/LVMT credentials; FL CVT preferred.
  • At least 5+ years of clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated team leadership experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Direct direct workflow on the floor and supervise technicians.
  • Foster a positive hospital culture and provide mentorship.
  • Collaborate with hospital management and supervisory teams on operations.
  • Participate in interviewing and onboarding of new associates.
  • Support education and skill development for technicians; lead staff meetings.

Compensation

$18 - $20 / hour is based on skill set, experience, and licensure status (CVT, VTS)

Schedule

Full time, Weekend rotation required

About The Role

As Veterinary Technician Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Directing work flow on the floor
  • Cultivate an engaging work environment and maintain our strong hospital culture
  • Work cohesively with hospital management and supervisory teams to aid in the progression of the hospital
  • Help with the interview process for potential new hires and onboard all new associates
  • Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills
  • Conduct staff meetings
  • Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience
  • Mentoring technicians within the department
  • Resolve conflicts in a professional and humble manner
  • Refining and implementing protocols
  • Ensure that VCA polices, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff.

Having mastered the entire range of vet tech skills yourself, you are a role model for the team. You will work alongside our Veterinarians, Hospital Manager, and Assistant Manager to provide mentorship, ensure the hospital runs efficiently and fosters a winning environment.

Qualifications
  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician- CVT, LVT, RVT, LVMT (FL CVT Preferred)
  • 5+ years of clinical experience
  • Team leadership experience
  • Passion for Veterinary Medicine
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
