Job description

Certified Vet Tech Wanted: Someone Who Wants to Use Their Skills

VCA Animal Emergency Critical Care in Leesburg, VA is looking for a CVT who's ready to do real work and not just watch from the sidelines. If you've got the skills, we've got the cases and the trust to let you run with them.

This is emergency and critical care medicine. It's fast-paced, hands‑on, and never boring. You'll be doing everything: patient care, anesthesia, advanced procedures, diagnostics, and the whole toolkit. Daytime and Swing shifts, working alongside a team that's genuinely good at this and genuinely wants you to get better at it too.

What you'll actually be doing:
  • Providing Critical Care medicine that goes hand‑in‑hand with specialty medicine, to provide the best outcome for the patients
  • Physical exams, patient histories, vitals — the foundation of good care
  • Medications, CRIs, transfusions, and treatments, dosed right and documented right
  • IV catheters, venipuncture, fluid therapy, high flow oxygen
  • Anesthesia inducing, monitoring, and keeping patients stable through procedures
  • Radiography and in‑house diagnostics
  • Client education — real conversations about at home care, nutrition, and discharge instructions
  • Accurate records and clear communication with the team
  • Handling a huge range of cases, from routine to "okay, this one's a lot"
Who we're looking for:

Someone positive, driven, and not afraid to speak up. We have real conversations as a team, and your ideas actually go somewhere. We're picky about who we bring on. We want people who can roll with chaos, wear a few hats, and show up for the people next to them.

Compensation

$35.00 - $37.00 / hr based on skill set, experience and licensure status.

Schedule

Full time, swing and daytime shifts

Why VCA

VCA is one of the largest networks of animal hospitals in the country — but you'd never know it from the way we operate. Every hospital keeps its own identity, its own team, and its own culture, while giving you access to the resources, mentorship, and career opportunities of a national organization behind you. You get the best of both: the tight‑knit feel of a local practice and the backing, benefits, and growth potential of an industry leader.

We're genuinely invested in your career — not just your job. From continuing education to credential support to nationwide transfer opportunities if life takes you somewhere new, we build the kind of support system that helps technicians build real, lasting careers, not just punch a clock. This is a place where your work is seen, your growth is prioritised, and your future in this field actually matters to us.
