Certified Veterinary Technician Shift Lead

The anticipated starting hourly rate for individuals interested in this position is $23.43 to $33.84 per hour. The rate will be determined based on schedule, location, experience, skills, and abilities. *Sign-on bonuses and relocation assistance may be available temporarily, depending on location.

As a Banfield veterinary technician, you will work alongside industry experts to make a difference in pets' and clients' lives. This role offers opportunities to utilize your veterinary knowledge, communication skills, and love for pets, providing a clear career path for growth and learning.

Responsibilities
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Assist with hospital functions to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures per your state's Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and treatment options.
  • Maintain medical records and support data collection for research.
  • Obtain health history and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow protocols, and keep treatment areas clean and organized.
  • Mentor and support fellow team members.
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Assist Practice Manager in developing an efficient, high-quality hospital team.
  • Support hospital labor management and staff training.
  • Create an environment conducive to delivering quality veterinary care.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the team and with clients.
  • Ensure adherence to dress, grooming, and safety guidelines.
  • Prepare for daily cases, manage case transfers, and triage treatment schedules.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and propose solutions.
  • Support client resolution, invoice adjustments, and address equipment issues.
  • Manage hospital finances and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Review medical records, medications, and hospital cleanliness.
Requirements

Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT)
