Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health's Center for Discovery and Innovation (CDI) seeks a Veterinary Technician to provide care for research animals and support to the veterinary staff and researchers at the Animal Facility.

The role involves routine health care, health evaluations, treatments, documentation, and compliance with SOPs; requires an Associate's degree, at least two years of experience, and licensure such as LVT/CVT or LAT certification, with AALAS LAT certification also acceptable.

Qualifications

• Associates degree.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience.
• Mandatory weekend/holiday coverage.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Licenses/certifications required: LVT/CVT or LAT certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for research animals and general veterinary support to the veterinary staff and researchers.
• Perform routine health care procedures and conduct animal health evaluations.
• Provide necessary treatments as directed by the veterinarian and document plans and results.
• Maintain animal health records and assist with colony management and biosafety practices.
• Assist in training on safe handling, restraint, and manipulation of research animals.
• Adhere to SOPs and participate in compliance activities and routine monitoring.
