Veterinary Technician - Radiation Oncology

Position Overview

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an experienced Radiation Oncology Veterinary Technician. We are looking for passionate, dependable, and knowledgeable candidates eager to grow their careers in veterinary medicine. Responsibilities

• Understand different types of radiation energies/modalities and their appropriate uses
• Perform basic radiation therapy patient set-ups under supervision
• Administer radiation doses to patients under supervision
• Discharge oncology patients, including client education
• Admit oncology patients, obtain thorough histories, and monitor responses
• Analyze laboratory results and notify veterinarians accordingly
• Understand pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of medications
• Place peripheral over-the-needle catheters
• Recognize abnormal heart and lung sounds
• Perform medical calculations, including advanced and CRIs
• Recognize patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR per guidelines
• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia; maintain anesthesia equipment

Qualifications

Experience in Radiation Oncology is preferred. A positive attitude, strong drive, and commitment to career development are essential. Training will be provided for suitable candidates.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay ranges from $21 to $42 per hour, depending on experience and credentials.
