Job summary

Absecon Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician for our Primary Care team in Absecon, NJ. This full-time role offers shift opportunities from 8AM–6PM, 9AM–7PM, or 10AM–8PM, with weekend/holiday rotations and overnight nursing for hospitalized cases.

Expect to room patients, draw blood, place catheters, and assist doctors with exams and procedures. Credentialed technicians are preferred; VTNE students and non-credentialed technicians can be considered based on our leveling system.

Qualifications

• Credentialed technicians preferred; VTNE candidates welcome.
• Strong teamwork and clear communication required.
• General practice experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take histories, and record vitals and weights.
• Draw blood, place catheters, run in-house diagnostics, and administer treatments.
• Assist doctors with exams, injections, and procedures.
• Use low-stress, Fear Free handling to keep patients and clients safe.
• Explain procedures and next steps clearly to clients.
• Maintain accurate medical records and keep treatment areas clean and stocked.
