Job summary

Absecon Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our inpatient and urgent care night team in Absecon, NJ. The role covers closing and overnight shifts, caring for hospitalized patients, and supporting doctors and staff in emergencies.

Qualified candidates should be credentialed (CVT/LVT/RVT) with 2+ years in hospital, emergency, or specialty settings. We offer competitive pay, shift differentials, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Credentialed technicians (CVT, LVT, or RVT) preferred.
• Hospital, emergency, or specialty experience 2+ years.
• Careful, organized, and attentive to small changes in a patient.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients as they arrive and prioritize care with the doctor and team.
• Place IV catheters, start fluids, draw blood, and run diagnostics.
• Monitor and stabilize sick patients and assist with emergencies, including CPR and procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments and keep accurate records.
• Monitor vitals, pain, hydration, and appetite, and alert the doctor to changes.
• Manage IV catheters and pumps; provide wound and bandage care.
• Care for hospitalized patients, assist with post-surgical recovery, and communicate discharge instructions.
