BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital in Golden Valley, MN is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Patient Care team. This full-time day shift role offers a strong, supportive culture and opportunities to grow in Emergency and Specialty Medicine.

You will work with board-certified specialists and skilled professionals to deliver high-quality patient care and client communication. Education allowances and career development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have two years of veterinary technician experience or be a LVT.
• Experience in Emergency and Specialty Medicine is preferred.
• Ability to mentor and train coworkers.
• Strong work ethic and compassion for patients and clients.

Responsibilities

• Triage emergency cases and obtain vitals (temp, HR, RR, BP).
• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia with monitoring equipment.
• Assist with treatment plans and explain to owners.
• Perform digital radiography with proper patient positioning.
• Understand normal vital sign ranges and alert Vet when needed.
• Perform phlebotomy and place IV catheters.
• Place feeding tubes and central lines as needed.
• Identify arrest risk and initiate CPR.
• Mentor and train co-workers in the ICU team.
• Show patience and empathy addressing client concerns.

BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital in Golden Valley, MN is seeking an exceptional, qualified, and passionate Veterinary Technician to join our growing Patient Care team. Our Golden Valley team is a family, and we promote a positive, fun, team-centered culture!

You will work alongside board-certified critical care specialists and other skilled veterinary professionals to provide remarkable care for our patients and their families.

This is a full-time day shift opportunity.

2 Holidays per year (may include swing shift and/or overnight)

Every other full weekend required.

Qualifications

Must have two years of veterinary technician experience or be a LVT.

You will be able to advance and fully utilize your technical skills. As an ICU Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Assist the doctor with creating patient treatment plans and thoroughly explaining to owners.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
