BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Veterinary Technician in Ophthalmology

We are currently offering a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 for credentialed technicians.

As an Ophthalmology Veterinary Technician, you will assist in diagnosing and treating eye diseases in companion animals.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Performing basic ophthalmic diagnostic tests (tear quantity, glaucoma testing, ulcer testing) and assisting with detailed ocular exams.
  2. Conducting advanced ophthalmic diagnostic tests (retinal electrical function, etc.).
  3. Setting up and assisting with procedures and surgeries to restore vision and comfort, ranging from outpatient procedures to complex surgeries.
  4. Participating in outpatient procedures such as diamond burr debridement and CO2 laser treatments.
  5. Assisting with surgical procedures including eyelid surgeries, cherry eye correction, corneal grafts, cataract, retinal, and glaucoma surgeries.
  6. Managing anesthesia: placing IV catheters, administering drugs, monitoring sedation/anesthesia, including advanced skills like continuous rate infusions, paralytics, and ventilation.
  7. Organizing and maintaining ophthalmic equipment and supplies.
  8. Educating clients about their pet's ocular health and care.
