BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital is seeking a dedicated Neurology Veterinary Technician to support neuro patients through anesthesia, exams, and discharge education. You will perform CRIs, calculate dosages, assist with MRI/CT, monitor vitals, and provide nursing care in a fast-paced specialty setting.

Qualifications

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculate medical dosages and rates (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Prepare for MRI and CT procedures.
• Discharge neuro patients with basic education and nursing care.
• Back up and refill medications as needed.
• Gather histories and communicate to Clinician.
• Perform physical exams and monitor vitals.
• Understand normal vital parameters.
• Assist with IVC placement and venipuncture.
• Operate IV fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
• Restrain patients during consults and diagnostics.

As a Neurology Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).

• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia

• Set up for MRI and CT procedures.

• Discharge neuro patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as manual bladder expression, sling walking, range of motion, etc..Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values

• Perform call backs and refill medications

• Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician

• Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.

• Understand normal vital parameters

• Comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture

• Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.

• Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics
