BluePearl Pet Hospital in North Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced Neurology Veterinary Technician to join our team. This role offers a sign-on bonus up to $2,000 for qualified candidates and pay dependent on local licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

As a Neurology Veterinary Technician, you will set up CRIs, assist with anesthesia and neuro imaging, discharge patients with client education, and support clinicians with exam procedures.

Qualifications

• Experienced neurology veterinary technician with strong anesthesia support.
• Proficient in CRI administration and nursing care.
• Able to educate clients and discharge patients safely.
• Comfortable with setup and handling of MRI and CT procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI) and monitor anesthesia.
• Calculate medical dosages and perform clinical math (mcg/mg, %/mg).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
• Discharge neuro patients with client education and home care guidance.
• Perform callbacks and refill medications as needed.
• Take client histories and communicate findings to Clinician.
• Perform physical exams and monitor vital signs.
• Assist with IV access and venipuncture.
• Operate IV fluid pumps and troubleshoot issues.
• Restrain patients during consults and diagnostics.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in North Dallas, TX is hiring a experienced Neurology Veterinary Technician to join our team!

This role is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2,000 for qualified candidates!

Pay: D ependent on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

As a Neurology Veterinary Technician , you will:

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc ).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
• Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
• Discharge neuro patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as manual bladder expression, sling walking, range of motion, etc.. Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values
• P erform call back s and refill medications
• Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician
• Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Understand normal vital parameters
• Comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture
• O perate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
• R estrain patients during consults and during diagnostics

Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro-rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
