BluePearl Pet Hospital in Langhorne, PA is seeking a Neurology Veterinary Technician to support advanced neurological care and anesthesia management for dogs and cats. You will work with a skilled clinical team in a fast-paced environment, performing critical nursing tasks and client education.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in veterinary neurology and critical care.
• Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Proficiency with calculating medical dosages and IV rates.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates medical math including CRI and concentrations.
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
• Discharge neuro patients with client education and nursing care.
• Perform medication calls and refills.
• Gather histories and communicate to Clinician.
• Perform physical exams and monitor vital signs.
• Assist with venipuncture and IV fluid pumps.
• Restrain patients during exams and diagnostics.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Langhorne, PA is hiring an exceptional Neurology Veterinary Technician.

We have many specialized technicians in Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, and Emergency/Critical Care. Applicants should have a strong knowledge base, motivation to learn, and ambition to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Pay: $22.00 - $44.00 / hour

Schedule: Monday- Thursday 8:00AM- 5:00PM

As a Neurology Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
• Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
• Discharge neuro patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as manual bladder expression, sling walking, range of motion, etc..Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values
• Perform call backs and refill medications
• Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician
• Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Understand normal vital parameters
• Comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture
• Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
• Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics
