CityVet in Washington, DC is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our team. The VT supports veterinarians by prepping patients, assisting with procedures, and communicating with clients under the DVM's plan of care.

This role emphasizes compassionate patient care, teamwork, and efficient operation. Minimum 1 year veterinary experience and the ability to lift 50 lbs are required, with attractive pay based on experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum age 18 at hire.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to safely restrain animals.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medications.
• Lift up to 50 lbs; frequent standing, bending, walking, and reaching.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarians by prepping patients for surgery and monitoring post-op.
• Obtain samples (stool, blood, etc.) for testing.
• Perform tests and help interpret results.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Communicate with clients about care plans.
• Assist the Client Service Specialist team when needed.
