Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Florida is seeking a Veterinary Technician Manager to lead and mentor a team of veterinary professionals. The role emphasizes training, advanced patient care, and strong leadership to drive exceptional standards of care and teamwork.

The successful candidate will manage daily operations, develop staff through mentoring, and collaborate with hospital leadership to ensure high-quality patient outcomes in a dynamic clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate highly advanced proficiency as a Veterinary Technician or Advanced Patient Care Associate within their department and maintain related skills.
• Create effective working relationships with hospital leadership to ensure standards of care are understood, communicated, and delivered.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert to Technicians and Assistants on daily operations, patient care, and skill development.
• Mentor staff by modeling positive work habits, clinical skills and business knowledge.
• Identify conflicts and seek resolution to foster teamwork and productivity.
• Coach staff to cultivate a culture of strong performance and high productivity.
• Clearly communicate changes in protocols, policies, and new ideas to team members.
• Build positive relationships across hospital and administration to support teamwork.
• Implement process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Technician Training Manager to schedule ongoing training.
• Document performance-related issues and provide leadership with annual review recommendations on performance management and discipline.
• Other duties as assigned.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Technician Manager with passion and the ability to help motivate, engage, and train a team of veterinary professionals.

Pay: $28 - $50 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.

As a Veterinary Technician Manager, you will...

• Demonstrate highly advanced proficiency as a Veterinary Technician or Advanced Patient Care Associate within their appropriate department and maintains all related skills and knowledge.
• Create effective working relationships with hospital leadership to ensure standards of care are understood, effectively communicated, and delivered upon.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert and resource to Technicians and Assistants regarding daily operations, patient care, and skill development.
• Serve as a mentor to staff by demonstrating positive work habits, effective clinical skills and business knowledge.

• Identify conflicts in the workplace and seek assistance in resolution in order to create effective working relationships.
• Coach staff to create a culture of strong performance and high productivity.
• Clearly communicate with team members to ensure consistent understanding of new ideas, changes in protocol, policies, and impending changes.
• Build positive relationships across the hospital and administration to facilitate an environment of teamwork .
• Implement process improvement initiatives.

• Work with the Technician Training Manager to schedule ongoing training.
• Document performance-related issues, assesses team members during annual review, and provides hospital leadership with recommendations related to performance management and discipline.
