Mt. Nittany Veterinary Hospital in State College, PA seeks an experienced Lead Veterinary Technician to join our growing team. This role combines hands-on patient care with leadership, training, and development of hospital workflows and clinical protocols.

We value a collaborative, low-stress patient care philosophy and provide opportunities to mentor staff, shape SOPs, and partner with DVMs to maintain high-quality care. Compensation is $25-$30 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years hands-on experience and demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Strong veterinary technician skills, including surgery, anesthesia, dentistry, diagnostics, and patient care.
  • Self-motivated with initiative and strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable training, coaching, and encouraging other team members.
  • Interested in improving processes and helping a growing team succeed.

Responsabilités

  • Lead by example in daily patient care and treatment.
  • Train and support new and existing veterinary technicians and assistants.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain clinical protocols and SOPs.
  • Support hospital workflows and improve daily efficiency.
  • Coordinate technician schedules and daily staffing needs.
  • Provide team encouragement, coaching, and feedback.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one check-ins with team members.
  • Partner with hospital leadership to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Help shape a positive, collaborative team environment.
  • Support veterinarians with appointments, surgery, anesthesia, dentistry, diagnostics, and treatments.
  • Promote a calm, low-stress experience for patients.
  • Help shape the culture of a growing veterinary team.

Lead Veterinary Technician

Mt. Nittany Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced Lead Veterinary Technician to join our growing team in State College, PA. This is an opportunity for a veterinary technician who enjoys being hands-on with patient care while also taking an active role in training, team development, hospital workflow, and clinical protocols.

We are under new leadership and continuing to grow our team, systems, and culture. Our DVM team is enthusiastic about teaching and mentoring, and we are looking for a lead technician who can help bring that same energy to the technician team.

What We're Looking For
  • CVT, LVT, RVT preferred
  • Veterinary technicians with 3-5+ years of hands-on experience and demonstrated leadership experience will also be considered
  • Strong veterinary technician skills, including experience with surgery, anesthesia, dentistry, diagnostics, and patient care
  • Self-motivated and able to take initiative
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable training, coaching, and encouraging other team members

What You'll Do

The Lead Veterinary Technician will provide hands-on patient care while helping lead and support the technician team.

Responsibilities Include
  • Lead by example in daily patient care and treatment

Schedule
  • Full-time position
  • Flexible 4-day or 5-day work week
  • Currently closed on Saturdays
  • Saturday hours will be introduced soon, beginning with approximately 2 rotating Saturdays per month
