Bath-Brunswick Veterinary Associates in Brunswick, ME is seeking a Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide exceptional nursing and anesthesia support, lead a dynamic team, and mentor assistants and technicians. You will collaborate with leadership on daily operations, manage inventory, and help implement hospital SOPs.
The role requires an AVMA-accredited technician program graduate, an active LVT license, and strong leadership and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
- A current state veterinary technician license (LVT) in good standing.
- Proficiency in nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology, and laboratory procedures.
- Calm and efficient under fast-paced conditions.
- Strong communication and leadership skills; prior leadership experience required.
Responsibilities
- Providing exceptional nursing care and anesthesia support.
- Performing blood draws and IV catheter placement.
- Mentoring and training veterinary assistants and technicians.
- Partnering with the leadership team on daily operations.
- Managing inventory and medical supplies.
- Leading technician department meetings.
- Assisting with workflow improvements.
- Developing and implementing hospital SOPs.
- Supporting a positive, collaborative hospital culture.

Bath-Brunswick Veterinary Associates is one of the largest and most established private veterinary practices in the Brunswick/Bath area. As an AAHA-accredited hospital, we are committed to practicing high-quality medicine while fostering a collaborative, supportive environment where veterinary technicians are encouraged to utilize and expand their advanced clinical skills.
- Competitive pay: $27–$30/hour
- $5,000 Sign-On Bonus for qualified applicants
- Four-day work week
- Saturday rotation (approximately 1 every 4–6 weeks)

Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital and/or state and will be outlined by the state’s Veterinary Practice Act and/or the responsible veterinarian, where applicable.
- Utilize Your Full Skillset: You'll be a vital part of the medical team, providing comprehensive patient care, including administering treatments, monitoring anesthesia, and performing lab work.
- Be a Leader and Mentor: You’ll guide and support the medical team, ensuring an efficient workflow while mentoring others to help them grow their skills and careers.
- Partner with Clients: You'll be a key point of contact for pet owners, educating them on treatments, reviewing medical records, and confidently answering their questions.
- Contribute to a Positive Culture: You'll play an active role in training, providing feedback, and maintaining the high standards of our hospital environment.
- Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
- A current state veterinary technician license (LVT) in good standing.
- Proficiency in a range of technical skills, including nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology, and laboratory procedures.
- A calm and efficient approach, especially in fast-paced or stressful situations.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively.
- Prior Leadership experience is required.
