Northside Animal Hospital in Columbus, GA seeks a Lead Veterinary Technician to mentor a team of technicians and assistants, working closely with veterinarians to ensure high standards of care. You will help create protocols, improve patient outcomes, and contribute to day-to-day operations in a busy, AAHA-accredited clinic.

The role emphasizes teaching, leadership, and process development to expand services and patient care quality.

Qualifications

• Current, active license as a Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, or CVT) required.
• Experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
• Strong technical skills in anesthesia, radiology, soft tissue surgery, lab work, dental care, and ultrasound.
• Experience working in a high-volume, multi-doctor practice is a plus.
• Calm, professional, and solution-oriented during high-stress or urgent situations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Passionate about veterinary medicine, mentoring others, and contributing to the clinic’s continuous improvement and growth.

Responsibilities

• Stay calm, professional, and effective during stressful or high-pressure situations, including when managing interpersonal challenges.
• Act as a mentor and teacher for technicians and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
• Identify and resolve operational or technical challenges, always looking for ways to improve clinic performance.

Job Overview

As the Lead Veterinary Technician, you will oversee and mentor a talented team of veterinary assistants, ensuring high standards of care and the continuous growth of the team. Working closely with our veterinarians, you will help create and implement protocols, improve patient outcomes, and contribute to the day-to-day operations of our busy clinic.
