Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health’s Hawaii team seeks an experienced Veterinary Technician for Internal Medicine at our Honolulu facility. You will provide skilled nursing care for focused internal medicine patients and assist with anesthesia, scope procedures, and advanced diagnostics.

You’ll support imaging, sample processing, and client education, ensuring high-quality care and smooth admissions with a collaborative veterinary team in a 24-hour emergency and referral setting.

Qualifications

  • Previous hands-on veterinary clinical experience.
  • Strong technical veterinary nursing skills and anesthesia fluency.
  • Confidence with patient preparation, anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery.
  • Experience assisting veterinarians with procedures, diagnostics, and hospitalized patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care for Internal Medicine patients.
  • Support scope procedures, including patient prep, induction, monitoring, and recovery.
  • Obtain and process blood, urine, fluid aspirates, and other samples.
  • Assist veterinarians with Internal Medicine procedures and advanced diagnostics.
  • Support diagnostic imaging including radiographs, ultrasound, endoscopy, and CT.
  • Administer and monitor sedation and anesthesia, respond to changes in patient status.
  • Admit and discharge patients and educate clients on medications and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and specialty teams to provide exceptional patient care.

Up to $32.00/hour
Full-Time | Sunday–Wednesday | 8:00 AM–6:00 PM | Four 10-Hour Shifts

Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center (VERC) of Hawaii is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Technician, Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician, Specialty Veterinary Technician, or experienced Veterinary Assistant with strong technical skills and anesthesia fluency who is interested in advanced diagnostics, scope procedures, and specialty patient care.

In Your Day-to-Day, You Will
  • Provide skilled nursing care for Internal Medicine patients.
  • Support common scope procedures, including patient preparation, induction, anesthetic monitoring, and recovery.

  • Assist veterinarians with Internal Medicine procedures and advanced diagnostics.
  • Support diagnostic imaging including radiographs, ultrasound, endoscopy, and CT.
  • Administer and monitor sedation and anesthesia, recognizing and responding appropriately to changes in patient status.
  • Admit and discharge patients and educate clients regarding medications, treatments, disease processes, and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and specialty teams to provide exceptional patient care.
What You Bring
  • Previous hands-on veterinary clinical experience.
  • Strong technical veterinary nursing skills and anesthesia fluency.
  • Confidence with patient preparation, anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery.
  • Experience assisting veterinarians with procedures, diagnostics, and hospitalized patient care.
  • Strong venipuncture, sample collection, patient monitoring, and medication administration skills.
  • Internal Medicine, Specialty, Emergency, ICU, anesthesia, endoscopy, or advanced diagnostic experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and client education skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Veterinary Technician credentialing or licensing preferred but not required.
