The Intermediate Care Ward (ICW) provides nursing care for hospitalized patients who are medically stable but continue to require ongoing treatment, monitoring, and supportive care. While ICW patients generally do not require the same level of intensive monitoring as ICU patients, nurses in this area typically manage a higher number of patients and must be able to prioritize care, stay organized, and recognize changes in patient condition quickly.
The ICW is open to all hospital services, so patients may come from Emergency, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Critical Care, or other specialty departments. Patients may be recovering from procedures, receiving IV medications or fluid therapy, undergoing continued diagnostics or treatment, or transitioning out of the ICU as their condition improves.
We are hiring exceptional Veterinary Technicians to join our growing ICW nursing team. This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy managing multiple hospitalized patients, have strong time-management and organizational skills, and want to continue developing their inpatient nursing abilities. Since ICW nurses manage a higher patient load, communication, prioritization, attention to detail, and efficient workflow are essential.
The purpose of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is to provide critically ill patients with the highest level of monitoring, nursing care, and medical support in a dedicated and organized environment. Our ICU cares for both critically ill patients and patients who are at risk of acute decompensation and therefore require close observation and frequent reassessment. The ICU supports all hospital services, meaning patients from any department may require ICU level care during their hospitalization.
We are seeking exceptional Veterinary Technicians to join our growing ICU nursing team. This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy caring for critically ill patients, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and are interested in advancing their critical care nursing skills.
To provide the highest level of patient care and identify changes in condition as early as possible, ICU doctors and nurses work closely together as a team. ICU nurses are a fundamental part of patient recovery and take on an increased level of responsibility in monitoring, treatment, communication, and overall patient care.
