Job summary

Chino Valley Animal Hospital in Chino Valley, AZ is seeking an experienced full-time Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist doctors, manage exams, perform in-house tests, and provide compassionate care to pets and owners.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of clinical veterinary hospital experience is preferred.
• Experience as a veterinary technician is highly preferred.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Flexible and adaptable to new situations.
• Ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Basic veterinary medical terminology proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist in appointments with doctors.
• Take history from client and record observations in medical records.
• Educate clients on preventative care and provide follow up.
• Communicate patient or client concerns to staff.
• Perform venipuncture, in-house lab tests, and handle outside lab forms.
• Provide nursing care including medications and monitoring.
• Admit and discharge patients per protocols and educate clients.
• Restock and clean treatment areas and exam rooms.
• Use practice software for dispensing medications and record keeping.
• Understand OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards.
• Perform diagnostic imaging as requested.
• Conduct tech appointments (pedicures, ear cleaning, etc.).
• Assist doctors in procedures and anesthesia with doctor present.
• Support in OR, recovery, and post-op nursing care.
• Perform client callbacks and other duties as assigned.
