Job summary

Cabrillo Pet Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Technician to join our team in San Diego. The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and love animals, with experience in rooming patients and assisting in surgery.

Knowledge of x-rays, lab work, venipuncture, and proper animal handling is required. The role offers full-time or part-time schedules, competitive hourly pay, and a supportive team environment in a AAHA-accredited practice serving the San Diego area since 1975.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting.
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment.
• Passion for working with animals and their owners.
• Experience with animal handling and restraint, Fear Free preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and assist during procedures.
• Assist in surgery, including induction, intubation, monitoring, and aseptic technique.
• Draw blood and run basic lab work.
• Take and position radiographs (X-ray) and manage imaging.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and calmly.
• Obtain accurate medical histories and maintain records.
• Educate clients about diagnoses and treatment plans.
