Job description

Veterinary Technician - ER/CC Supervisor

We are looking for a licensed Veterinary Technician to provide excellent care to patients in our 24/7 Emergency and Critical Care hospital in Las Vegas. The primary role is to assist veterinarians, lead the department, and ensure high‑quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all essential duties of a Veterinary Technician
  • Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity
  • Provide support to all veterinarians, often assisting more than one on your shift
  • Provide diagnostic, surgical and nursing care to all patients
  • Perform basic, emergent, and critical care anesthetic monitoring
  • Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing (blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, cystocentesis, urinary catheter sampling, free catch urine)
  • Perform various laboratory procedures (blood typing, cross matching, slide agglutination testing)
  • Accurately take and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiographs while following appropriate radiation safety protocols
  • Properly use and maintain medical equipment
  • Provide professional client communication
  • Help keep hospital areas clean and neat, maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Maintain client and patient confidentiality
  • Meet or exceed performance standards for work quality and productivity
  • Meet or exceed VECC expectations for attendance and punctuality
  • Act as an ambassador of VECC at all times, displaying consideration, courtesy, compassion, and professionalism
Qualifications
  • Must be a Licensed Veterinary Technician
  • Experience working within an ER hospital setting preferred
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long‑term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community we serve
  • Reliable, organized, and committed to providing high‑level care to patients and clients
  • A craving for lifelong learning and continuous improvements
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected

Schedule

Daytime and swing shift supervisor. Three 12‑hour or four 10‑hour shifts with rotating weekends.

Compensation

Salary: $30.00 - $43.00/hr (includes differentials)
