Job summary

Veritas Veterinary Partners is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our Las Vegas team. You will support DVMs and LVTs, monitor patients, prepare samples, and provide compassionate client communication in a state-of-the-art facility.

We offer a Thursday–Saturday schedule with hybrid options, competitive hourly pay ($18–$22) and comprehensive benefits including insurance, 401k, paid time off, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Veterinary Assistant with 2+ years preferred.
  • Strong desire to learn and apply knowledge in daily work life.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking.
  • Demonstrate ability to follow technician protocols and procedures.
  • Reliable with tasks and projects, showing consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and document patient vital signs and activity.
  • Provide technical support to primary emergency veterinarian.
  • Deliver care including diagnostics, nursing, and critical care support.
  • Assist with anesthesia monitoring (basic, emergent, and critical).
  • Prepare samples for diagnostic testing (blood draws, cystocentesis, urine collection).
  • Perform lab procedures (blood typing, cross matching, slide agglutination).
  • Take and process radiographs (abdomen, thorax, limbs, skull) with safety protocols.
  • Maintain and use medical equipment.
  • Communicate professionally with clients.

The Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center is a specialty practice comprised of board certified and residency trained doctors, licensed veterinary technicians, and support teams who are highly trained in Internal Medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Neurology, Physical Rehabilitation, and Emergency and Critical Care.

About the job

The Veterinary Assistant position will assist the hospital in delivering excellent care to all of our patients within the hospital. Perform Veterinary Assistant duties pursuant to VE+CC Protocols. Embodies the culture in treating every client with the utmost courteous and attentive treatment possible, with a keen sensitivity to the emotional bond between owners and their pets. Assist DVMs and LVT in all duties necessary.

How you’ll make a difference
  • Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity
  • Provide all technical support to primary emergency veterinarian
  • Provide comfort, diagnostic, surgical and nursing care to all patients including critical care patients
  • Perform basic, emergent, and critical care anesthetic monitoring
  • Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing including but not limited to blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, cystocentesis, urinary catheter sampling and free catch urine
  • Perform various laboratory procedures including but not limited to blood typing, cross matching, and slide agglutination testing
  • Accurately take and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiograph while following appropriate radiation safety protocols
  • Properly use and maintain medical equipment
  • Provide professional client communication

Schedule
  • Thursday through Saturday, 7:00am - 7:30pm at our Main location
  • Hybrid Main/North
    • Friday, 7:00am - 7:30pm Main Hospital
    • Saturday & Sunday, 6:00am - 6:30pm North Hospital

Salary : $18.00 - $22.00/hr, depends on experience

Base Pay
