Thrive Pet Healthcare operates Saint Francis Veterinary Specialists and Emergency in Decatur, GA, seeking an Overnight Veterinary Technician for ER/ICU coverage. The role supports veterinarians, maintains patient flow, and participates in surgeries and procedures in accordance with state laws.

Qualifications

• Licensure preferred but not required.
• 1-2 years of clinical experience.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from AVMA-accredited program preferred, or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality care and client education.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures per state Act for credentialed technicians.
• Maintain medical records with practice systems.
• Obtain health history from clients and manage medical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques and keep treatment areas clean and organized.
• Mentor and support fellow team members.

Overnight position at Saint Francis Veterinary Specialists, Decatur, GA. $1,500 Sign‑On Bonus.

Your Experience & Skills

• Veterinary technician licensure is preferred but not required.
• 1-2 years of clinical experience.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA‑accredited veterinary technology program preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians.
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
• Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
• Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
• Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
