As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, your responsibilities will include:

1. Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia, and using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
2. Triage of emergency cases, including obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
3. Performing digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
4. Understanding normal ranges of vital signs and alerting veterinarians to changes.
5. Identifying patients at risk for arrest and initiating CPR.
6. Calculating medical doses, administering medications, performing phlebotomy, and placing IV catheters.
7. Placing and maintaining feeding tubes and central line catheters.
8. Mentoring and training colleagues.
9. Addressing client concerns with patience and empathy.
