Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists - Mansfield seeks an Emergency Veterinary Technician to deliver hands-on care in a fast-paced overnight ER. You’ll support veterinarians during exams, treatments, and surgeries while monitoring anesthesia and assisting with emergencies.

Join a team with advanced diagnostics and a collaborative doctor-technician relationship. Ideal candidates have 1+ year emergency experience and ECC/CVT/LVT/RVT credentials are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of emergency veterinary technician experience.
• ECC/CVT/LVT/RVT credentials encouraged.
• Strong anesthesia monitoring and surgical assisting skills.
• Experience with post-operative and emergency patient care; ability to assess patient condition in fast-paced settings.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians during emergency exams, treatments and procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist with emergency surgeries and postoperative care.
• Provide emergency nursing care and first aid to injured or recovering patients.
• Prepare patients and surgical instruments for procedures.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs (blood pressure, ECG, SpO₂, EtCO₂).
• Collect laboratory samples and perform in-house diagnostics.
• Operate digital radiography and advanced diagnostic equipment.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Accurately document patient histories and medical records.
• Maintain clean, sterile, and organized treatment, exam, and lab areas.
• Mentor and support fellow technicians and assistants.

Compensation:

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT/VTS): $25.00-$35.00/hr + plus shift differential
• Experienced Veterinary Technician (Unlicensed): $22.00-25.00/hr + plus shift differential

$1500 Sign on Bonus Available for overnights shifts

What You’ll Do

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you’ll provide hands‑on care to critical patients by:

• Supporting veterinarians during emergency exams, treatments, and procedures
• Monitoring anesthesia and assisting with emergency surgeries and post-operative care
• Providing emergency nursing care and first aid to injured or recovering patients
