Job summary

Florida Veterinary Referral Center (FVRC) is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency team in Estero, FL. This full-time role supports a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital with a focus on training and professional development.

The position offers day shifts four 10-hour shifts per week, with night differential and sign-on options for licensed technicians. A collaborative, growth-focused environment helps technicians advance their clinical skills and patient care

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician
  • Emergency veterinary experience preferred; LVT certification prioritized
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a fast-paced hospital setting

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on patient care for emergency and hospitalized patients
  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, procedures, and monitoring
  • Restrain and handle dogs/cats and other patients; perform diagnostic procedures
  • Maintain accurate medical records and assist with treatment areas and equipment

Florida Veterinary Referral Center (FVRC) is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency team in Estero, FL. This is a full-time opportunity for a Veterinary Technician who enjoys emergency medicine, working as part of a collaborative team, and continuing to build their clinical skills.

Schedule
  • Full-time,Four 10-hour shifts per week

  • Swing Shifts, 2PM - 12AM

  • Specific days of the week to be determined, 1 weekend shift per week required

Responsibilities

As a Veterinary Technician on the Emergency team, you will provide hands-on patient care and technical support in a fast-paced emergency and specialty veterinary hospital.

  • Provide compassionate nursing care to emergency and hospitalized patients

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, procedures, and patient care, safely restrain and handle dogs, cats, and other veterinary patients, perform and assist with diagnostic procedures, including diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing,phlebotomy and venipuncture, anesthesia and patient monitoring, preparingand administration of medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian, monitor patient condition and communicate changes promptly to the medical team, maintain accurate and timely medical records, and assist with upkeep of treatment areas, equipment, and supplies

  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients regarding patient care

  • Work collaboratively with veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, assistants, and client care team members

  • Continue developing technical and clinical skills through training and professional development

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician

  • Emergency veterinary experience preferred,LVT certification is prioritized

  • Strong understanding of basic veterinary medicine and patient care

  • Experience with patient restraint and handling,diagnostic imaging,phlebotomy and venipuncture,anesthesia and patient monitoring,andveterinary laboratory equipment and procedures

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment, ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative veterinary team

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Commitment to compassionate patient care and excellent client service

  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.
