Ethos Veterinary Health's Veterinary Emergency Referral Center in Pensacola, FL is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to join our Emergency team. You will work alongside veterinarians and technicians, provide compassionate hands-on care, assist with procedures, and contribute to an exceptional experience for pets and their families.

The role requires at least 1 year of veterinary assistant experience, strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant, emergency experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced hospital.
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate hands-on care for emergency and hospitalized patients.
  • Safely restrain and handle patients for examinations and procedures; assist with radiographs and imaging prep.
  • Monitor patients and communicate changes to the team; maintain clean and sterile areas.
  • Assist with client communication and navigate visits with clear, empathetic guidance.
  • Support hospital operations and collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and staff.
  • Continue developing veterinary knowledge and skills through training.

Full-Time | Three 12-hour shifts | Friday, Saturday & Sunday | 7:00 AM–7:00 PM

Veterinary Emergency Referral Center (VERC) in Pensacola, FL is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to join our Emergency team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Assistant who enjoys emergency medicine, hands-on patient care, client interaction, and working as part of a supportive veterinary team.

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll work alongside veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians to provide compassionate patient care, assist with procedures, and help create an exceptional experience for pets and their families.

Responsibilities

As a Veterinary Assistant on the Emergency team, you will support patient care and hospital operations in a fast-paced emergency veterinary environment.

  • Provide compassionate hands-on care for emergency and hospitalized patients
  • Safely restrain and handle patients for examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedure, assist with obtaining diagnostic radiographs and preparing patients for imaging, monitor patients and communicate changes in condition to Veterinary Technicians and veterinarian, assist with general patient care, including feeding, cleaning, and maintaining patient comfort, prepare treatment areas, equipment, and supplies for procedures, clean, sterilize, wrap, and properly store surgical instruments and equipment, maintain clean, organized, and sanitary patient care areas
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients regarding their pets and hospital care, help clients navigate their pet's visit with clear and effective communication
  • Maintain attention to detail while managing multiple priorities in a busy, high-volume environment
  • Work collaboratively with veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, other assistants, and client care team members
  • Continue developing veterinary knowledge and technical skills through training and continuing education
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Veterinary Assistant,Emergency veterinary experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of veterinary medicine, including patient restraint, diagnostic imaging, surgical equipment, laboratory equipment, and laboratory procedures preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask and remain organized in a high-volume, fast-paced veterinary hospital
  • Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a veterinary medical team
  • Compassionate approach to patients, clients, and fellow team members
  • Commitment to outstanding client service and exceptional patient care
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.
