As a Veterinary Technician, you will assist in medical, surgical, and dental procedures, maintain accurate records, and educate clients on care and costs. This full-time role includes a sign-on bonus and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CVT or LVT certification is a bonus but not required.
  • At least one year of veterinary experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate care to patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate medical records per hospital policy.
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas.
  • Perform physical assessments and document observations.
  • Explain treatment plans and financial considerations to clients.
  • Provide post-operative and home care instructions to clients.
  • Stock treatment areas and notify inventory when supplies run low.
  • Assist Veterinarian during medical, surgical, and dental procedures including anesthesia and monitoring.
  • Ensure surgical materials and OR are prepared and stocked for procedures.

Veterinary Technician

Georgetown Veterinary Hospital in Georgetown, CT

$22.00-$26.00 an hour based on experience

*Sign on Bonus up to $5000*

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones
  • Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
  • Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas
  • Perform physical assessments and record your observations
  • Prepare estimates for procedures and discuss financial commitments with clients
  • Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions
  • Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered
  • Assist the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures (be comfortable with blood draws; prepare patients for surgery; administer anesthesia; monitor patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids)
  • Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery

REQUIREMENTS
