Rarebreed Veterinary Partners in Westford is seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our DAY SHIFT ER team. You will assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostics, and provide compassionate care to a diverse animal patient population.

This role offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus, hourly pay ranging from $27.00 to $40.00 depending on experience and licensure, and a culture focused on teamwork, growth, and high standards of care.

Qualifications

  • Proven kennel experience and animal husbandry skills.
  • Prior veterinary technician or critical care experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform advanced venipuncture.
  • Familiarity with X-ray procedures and catheterization techniques.
  • Strong communication using veterinary terminology.
  • CVT/LVT preferred but not required.
  • Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Perform laboratory tests to support accurate diagnoses.
  • Maintain detailed records of treatments and patient histories.
  • Prepare animals for procedures such as catheterization and imaging.
  • Ensure cleanliness and aseptic technique.
  • Ability to perform CPR.
  • Triage and provide patient rounds between departments.
  • Attend to patient monitoring and postoperative care.

Westford Veterinary Emergency & Referral Center is looking for a full‑time Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our incredible DAY SHIFT ER team! Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with animal restraint and aseptic techniques
  • Perform laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate diagnoses
  • Knowledge of Antech/Idexx in‑house equipment
  • Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, ensuring their comfort and safety during treatments
  • Maintain detailed records of animal treatments, laboratory results, and patient histories in compliance with clinic protocols
  • Prepare animals for procedures such as catheterization, X‑ray imaging, surgeries, and critical care intervention
  • Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of equipment and treatment areas following aseptic technique
  • Ability to perform CPR
  • Triage, obtain histories, provide patient rounds between departments
  • Attention to detail
