Job summary

Animal Medical Center in Hernando, Mississippi seeks a Veterinary Technician/Receptionist to join a fast-paced, collaborative team. You will support patients during visits and ensure clients are informed, welcomed, and cared for.

On the technician side, you’ll assist with restraint, triage, sample collection, imaging, anesthesia, surgery, medications, and nursing for hospitalized pets, while also explaining care plans to clients.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of veterinary technician experience and 1 year veterinary receptionist experience required.
• CVT/RVT/LVT credentials are a plus.
• Knowledge of preventative care, surgery, anesthesia, and hospital workflow.
• Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, low-stress patient handling, restraint, triage, and nursing care.
• Collect and process blood, urine, fecal, and skin samples.
• Assist with laboratory testing, digital radiology, dental radiographs, anesthesia, and surgical procedures.
• Greet clients and their pets and provide exceptional veterinary customer service.
• Schedule appointments, answer phones, assist with payments, and support hospital flow.
• Communicate treatment plans and instructions clearly.
• Maintain accurate medical records and client histories.
