Animal Medical Center of Hernando in Hernando, MS is seeking a compassionate veterinary receptionist to join its fast-paced team. You will greet clients and patients, answer calls and emails, schedule appointments, and handle check-ins, check-outs and payments.

Daily duties include caring for hospitalized/boarded pets, monitoring health and behavior, and assisting the veterinary team with exams and post-operative care. Training and career development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of veterinary experience or equivalent preferred
• Compassionate, calm, organized, and a strong communicator
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced veterinary environment
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn
• Weekend availability required
• Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes
• Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and handle pets and supplies
• Willingness to learn cleaning, medication, and basic patient care
• Reliable team player with positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Eager to grow veterinary knowledge and skills

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients; provide friendly, compassionate service
• Answer calls and emails; address concerns and schedule appointments
• Check clients in/out and process payments
• Provide daily care for hospitalized and boarding pets (feeding, walking, bathing, medicating)
• Monitor and document patient health, behavior, and medications
• Clean kennels, treatment areas, equipment and instruments
• Assist veterinary team with restraint, exams, and post-operative care
• Restock supplies; maintain a clean, safe hospital environment
• Work safely around animal waste, odors, and potential bites or scratches
