SAGE Dublin in Dublin, California is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (CA-RVT) or Senior Veterinary Assistant to join the Cardiology team on a full-time basis. You will perform venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, and assist with echocardiograms and other diagnostics, delivering compassionate patient care alongside experienced clinicians.

This role emphasizes teamwork, client communication, and adherence to hospital SOPs within Ethos Veterinary Health’s Dublin campus.

Qualifications

• CA-RVT or Senior Veterinary Assistant with relevant experience
• Strong anesthesia knowledge with the ability to monitor patients
• Experience with small animal restraint, focus on cats and dogs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task while following SOPs and hospital processes
• Reliable time management and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication calculations and administration, digital radiography, patient prep and recovery, epidural administration, and anesthesia/sedation monitoring for cardiac diagnostics or interventional procedures
• Assist with advanced cardiac diagnostics (echocardiograms, ECGs, thoracic radiographs, Holter) and home-use instruction
• Assist doctors during patient appointments with outstanding client communication and education
• Advocate for patient comfort and deliver comprehensive nursing care and after-care
• Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to ensure holistic patient care
• Other duties as assigned and contribute to a positive hospital culture

In your day-to-day, you will:

• Advocate for the patient, providing exceptional comfort, diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care, and ensuring patients receive appropriate care, treatment, and after-care
• Collaborate closely with other veterinary professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
• Other duties as assigned

What You Bring

• Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (CA-RVT) or Senior Veterinary Assistant with relevant experience
• Solid technical skills and anesthesia knowledge base, sound judgment, and the ability to function both independently and as part of a team
• General understanding and experience with small animal restraint, with a focus on cats and dogs
• High school diploma
• Basic understanding of veterinary medical terminology
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a calm, professional demeanor
• Reliable time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multi-task various duties in a timely and accurate manner with appropriate follow-through
• Ability to understand and follow established hospital processes and procedures (SOPs)
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care

Preferred:

• Experience in specialty veterinary medicine, with a focus on cardiology
• Valid and current Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California
