Join a team dedicated to excellence in veterinary medicine.

For over 100 years, Angell Animal Medical Center has served the greater Boston area as the second oldest animal hospital in the country. We are a primary care facility, a 24-hour emergency/critical care hospital (certified level 1 VECCS hospital), and a tertiary referral center. At Angell, you’ll work alongside some of the best doctors in the world across all areas of medicine.

Utilize and expand your skills in Oncology

We value the hard work you’ve put into your veterinary career and offer opportunities to apply and develop your knowledge. Our Oncology Veterinary Technicians/Assistants are skilled in phlebotomy and may be trained to administer chemotherapy using our safe closed system devices.

Our Oncology team develops strong knowledge of chemotherapy agents used in our practice while adhering to up-to-date PPE and safety guidelines. They participate in daily rounds to review treatment plans and foster strong bonds with pet owners, focusing on providing the best quality of life for our patients.

Professional growth and development

We support our staff’s professional growth through:

  • A generous tuition reimbursement program for job-related courses.
  • An on-site certified Social Worker to assist with workplace stresses.
  • Opportunities for promotion from within.

Comprehensive employee benefits

Our compensation package includes Blue Cross health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance; a 403(b) retirement plan; free uniforms; an annual shoe allowance; paid holidays, sick and vacation time; employee discounts; and free on-site parking. The $6,500 sign-on bonus is paid out over the first year of employment.

We also provide annual stipends for conferences and tuition reimbursement, along with three paid professional development days for CVTs. Our salaries and benefits reflect our commitment to our team.

Dynamic work environment

We handle one of the largest and most diverse small animal caseloads in the country, with 16 specialty services ranging from avian-exotics medicine to radiation/oncology.

Candidate requirements

  • Compassionate individuals with excellent communication skills and empathy for patients and clients.
  • Certified veterinary technicians are preferred for technician roles.
  • Veterinary assistants should have at least one year of experience in an animal clinic or hospital.

If you thrive in a collaborative environment, want to positively impact pets and their owners, and are committed to high-quality animal care, we encourage you to apply and join our Angell Oncology team!
