Qualifications

  • Applicants must be a certified technician for technician role.
  • Veterinary Assistant must have at least one year of experience in an animal clinic or hospital.

Job description

This is a full time 40 hours per week position. $6,500 sign on bonus for new hire employees into our oncology department

For over 100 years, Angell Animal Medical Center has served the greater Boston area as the second oldest animal hospital in the country. We are a primary care facility, a 24-hour emergency/critical care hospital (certified level 1 VECCS hospital), and a tertiary referral center. Use your training and skills in Oncology.

We know that you've worked hard in your veterinary career and we will give you the opportunity to use and expand your knowledge and experience. The skills our Oncology Veterinary Technicians/Assistants excel at are phlebotomy, and may be trained to administer chemotherapy using our safe closed system devices to administer chemotherapy treatments.

Our Oncology team is trained to develop strong knowledge of all chemotherapy agents used in our practice while wearing up to date PPE. Angell technicians and assistants also practice the most up to date safety guidelines and will soon be working in a newly renovated environment using all federal and state safety regulations. Our Oncology team participates in daily Rounds to review the current day patient's treatment plans. Our veterinary medical oncology technicians and Assistants develops strong bonds with owners pet's undergo treatment, with the focus to provide the best quality of life for our patients.

  • To be hired as a technician, applicants must be a certified technician.
  • To be hired as a Veterinary Assistant, applicants must have a minimum of one year of experience as a veterinary assistant in an animal clinic or hospital.
