Job summary

Rossmoor Pet Hospital in Walnut Creek, CA is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant/Technician (RVT eligible or experienced non-credentialed) for a full-time role.

You will provide clinical support, assist with exams and surgery, monitor anesthesia, handle IV catheters, blood draws, radiography and ultrasound, and educate clients about preventive care.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy.
• Strong experience in animal care, including handling and kennel management.
• Willing to be cross trained for a CSR role.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and interact well with clients and their pets.
• Availability to work Weekdays or Weekends.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and safely lift 50 lbs.
• Previous veterinary experience is preferred, but training is available.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams, procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and surgery.
• Perform basic medical procedures, administer medications, monitor patients, and manage feeding.
• Process lab samples and assist with digital radiography and ultrasound.
• Greet clients warmly, answer calls, schedule appointments, and educate pet owners on care.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kennels, exam rooms, and lab, and ensure accurate patient records.
