Job summary

ReadiVet is seeking a veterinary assistant or technician to join its growing clinic team in Nashville. The position supports in-clinic imaging, surgery, and dental procedures, with a focus on low-stress, client-centered care.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of veterinary experience, a licensed or eligible Veterinary Technician, and strong communication skills for client interactions. A 4-day work week (8:00 am–6:00 pm) and in-home care options are core elements of our model.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of veterinary assistant experience and/or veterinary technician license.
• Must have or be eligible for Veterinary Technician license.
• Excellent communicator and comfortable speaking with clients; able to restrain animals during exams and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in clinical procedures, including surgery prep, dental cleanings with radiographs, and patient restraint.
• Maintain a calm, low-stress environment for pets and clients during visits.
• Support team with front-desk duties and client communication as needed.
• Lift and move equipment safely, up to 50 lbs, with assistance.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of veterinary assistant experience and/or veterinary technician license,
• Proficiency in surgery, dental rads, and procedures
• Must be comfortable and confident in caring for patients in front of clients, including restraining animals, performing blood draws, placing catheters, preparing for surgery, and performing dental cleanings with x-ray, among other tasks.
• Must be an excellent communicator and comfortable speaking with clients
• Must be a team player
• Must be able to work 4-day work week, 8:00 am- 6:00 pm
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. with assistance (we bring our equipment with us)
• Valid state-issued driver's license, and ability/comfort in driving to appointments
